• The original operation report and discharge summary
• Weight before surgery, lowest weight reached and current weight
• Recent blood tests and a list of supplements
• Endoscopy and imaging reports when available
• Details of eating pattern, reflux, vomiting or difficulty swallowing

What options may be discussed?

Depending on the cause, treatment may involve nutrition support, medication, endoscopic treatment or revisional surgery. The previous anatomy and additional risks must be understood before any repeat procedure.

• Severe or increasing abdominal or chest pain
• Persistent vomiting or inability to drink
• Vomiting blood or black stool
• Fainting, breathing difficulty or rapid deterioration
